Senior quarterback Rees Wise leads the Chaps’ offense into the game against a Prosper team that finished 7-1 in District 6-6A play last year and 8-3 overall. The Eagles stumbled in the 6A-Division I playoffs with a 35-27 loss to Coppell in the bi-district championship round.
Wise, verbally committed to Ole Miss, threw for 2,598 yards last season with 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading the Chaps to the 6A-Division I state title game. He’s considered a 3-star recruit by 247Sports.
Prosper counters with a massive offensive line, anchored by the No. 18 2026 recruit in Texas, tackle Bryce Gilmore. The 6-foot-5, 297-pound human monolith is committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Offensive linemen Sean Stover (No. 36, Duke) and Zaden Krempin (No. 39, Texas A&M) are other big-time performers up front for the Eagles.
