Editor’s note: Featured pets may be adopted quickly, but there are always others ready for their forever home.
At the Humane Society of North Texas, adoption is about changing lives, one match at a time. Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.
This year is extra special for the Humane Society of North Texas. On Sept. 23, the nonprofit celebrates 120 years of lifesaving work — a milestone made possible by the community’s support.
At HSNT, every adoption is more than a transaction, it’s a story waiting to unfold. Pets arrive with quirks, charm and, sometimes, a bit of chaos, but each one is ready to trade kennel walls for couches, leashes for adventures and uncertainty for love.
Take Scout, for example. This 3-year-old Siberian husky is the queen of conversation, with ice-blue eyes that sparkle like mischief and a voice that never quite quiets. Scout doesn’t just walk into a room, she announces herself with commentary, jokes and spirited banter that makes her a one-dog comedy show. Beneath the chatter, though, is a loyal heart looking for a family who loves personality plus. If you’ve ever wanted a best friend who doubles as entertainment, Scout’s your girl.
Then there’s Frozen Custard, a pint-sized tabby kitten with a name as sweet as her spirit. At just 3 months old, she’s equal parts explorer and cuddle bug. One moment she’s pouncing on toy mice like a tiny tiger, the next she’s curling into your lap like she’s known you forever. Frozen Custard is still discovering the world, but she’s ready to bring a lot of warmth and charm into someone’s life.
