
District 1-3A and 2-3A got underway Tuesday night joining a busy schedule of games involving District 3-5A, 4-4A, District 5-4A, District 1-1A teams. Here’s a recap from Tuesday including Randall’s big win against West Plains, Bushland opens District 1-3A sweeping Dimmitt and Amarillo High closed out the first half of league play unbeaten.
District 4-4A
Randall continues to impress through the first half of District 4-4A. Following a big win over rival Canyon on Saturday, the Lady Raiders won another key district matchup taking down West Plains in front of a packed house at the Leslie Broadhurst Gymnasium at Randall High School on Tuesday night.
The Lady Raiders got behind early dropping the first set to the Lady Wolves 21-25, but were able to regroup and get the next three sets in a very intense match, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.

Thanks to defending home court, Randall (19-12 overall) is now all alone in first place of District 4-4A at 5-0. West Plains (22-10) drops a game back of the Lady Raiders at 4-1 in the league.
Lady Raider outside hitter Nevaeh Conner along with teammate Chloe Brown and Kambree Gonzalez all played pivotal roles Tuesday. Conner was big on both the front row and the back row. At the net, Conner slammed down 10 kills and on the back row fought for 19 digs to end the game with a double-double. She also added three aces. Brown complimented Conner at the net with a team-high 13 kills and picked up eight digs while Gonzalez had 17 digs.

Idaly Sotelo had a monster outing for West Plains on the back row with a game-high 35 digs. Kynzie Ward paced the Lady Wolves offense with 16 kills and Cecilia Murillo chipped in with a team-high 16 assists. Teammate Aaniyah Kitchen went for six kills and six blocks as well.
Dumas was another team making noise in District 4-4A on Tuesday night getting a huge home win against Canyon, 27-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21.
Alang Makuei, Haley Winegarner and Emarie Marquez all finished the match with 12 kills. Makuei also added seven blocks. Sophie Clements was outstanding with 30 assists and 14 digs for a double-double and had nine kills. Gabbi Alvarez and Gabi Holt were tremendous at the serving line with five aces apiece.
Canyon freshman Klair Stone had quite the debut with 21 digs and 12 kills for a double-double. Brylee McElroy tallied 21 assists.
Dumas improves to 3-2 in district and 16-15 overall. Canyon drops to 3-2 in the league and 13-14.
Pampa stayed hot winning its third straight with a victory at Perryton on Tuesday, 25-14, 25-15, 25-14. The Lady Harvesters move to over .500 in District 4-4A at 3-2 and are now 17-8 on the season. Perryton (7-16) is still seeking its first district win falling to 0-5. Addi Bagwell put together a solid night for Pampa with 16 assists and 10 digs for a double-double. Karina Gonzalez did her job on the back row with 17 digs to go with four blocks and four kills and Myla Zarate tallied 16 digs.
Hereford hustled past Borger for a four-set win, 16-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-21. It was a milestone night for Lilly Madrigal who totaled 31 assists putting her over 500 for her career. Madrigal was also stellar on the back row with 28 digs for a double-double. Lexi Vallejo paced the offense with 10 kills. Borger’s Addyson Bridges tallied nine kills, eight digs and seven blocks with teammate Aliyah Fernandez finishing with 31 digs. The Lady Whitefaces (14-14) move to 2-3 in District 4-4A. The Lady Bulldogs (9-16) slip to 0-5.
District 5-4A
Lubbock-Cooper Liberty made it another quick night of work by dismantling San Angelo Lake View in a sweep, 25-12, 25-6, 25-7, on the road Tuesday. The Lady Patriots (32-2) remain unbeaten in District 5-4A at 4-0. Lake View is now 4-14 overall and 1-3. Madison Heider had nine kills for the Lady Patriots with teammate Jacelyn Gestes dishing out 20 assists.
Frenship Memorial picked up another victory defeating Big Spring, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers (19-7) stay a game back of Liberty in the standings at 3-1 while Big Spring falls to 10-13 and 2-3. Jovi Phillips knocked down eight kills with four digs for Memorial. Teammate Mercedez Rodriguez had 21 assists with four kills.
In one other district game Tuesday, Snyder knocked off Lubbock Estacado 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.

District 3-5A
Amarillo closed out the first half of District 3-5A how that started it and that’s with another victory. The Lady Sandies went on the road Tuesday night and left Woodrow with a convincing sweep of rival Lubbock-Cooper 25-16, 25-19, 25-13.
The Lady Sandies enter the second half of district play at a perfect 8-0 and are now 22-9 on the year. AHS also runs its unbelievable district win streak to 60 straight games dating back to 2020. The Lady Pirates close out the first half of league play with a 5-3 mark in district and a 17-10 record overall.

Kinsler Hanson and Harper Vaughn did the damage at the net with a combined 21 kills. Hanson led AHS with 11 kills and Vaughn followed with 10. Vaughan added nine assists and three blocks to her superb evening. Teammate Bennet Rea chipped in with a team-high 14 assists and Sofia Quiles went for five digs.
Lubbock-Cooper’s Broox Lopez did her job with 18 assists, six digs and four kills. Bry Carlile added six digs with four kills and Lindsay Haynes had four kills.

Tascosa stayed a game behind Amarillo High picking up a sweep of Lubbock Coronado on Tuesday night. With the win, the Lady Rebels (20-9) are in sole possession of second place of District 3-5A at 7-1. The Lady Mustangs (18-14) drop to 6-2 in district. Bennet Berryman was everywhere on the defensive end getting 36 digs. Libby Miller and Addison Merrell combined for 49 assists and Presley Ward with Berkley Harper combined for 28 kills. Coronado’s Hailee Parrott Curtis tallied a double-double with 14 digs and 12 kills.
In two other district matches, Plainview beat Lubbock High 25-23, 23-25, 25-10, 25-7, and Lubbock Monterey defeated Palo Duro, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
District 1-3A
As expected, the Bushland Lady Falcons opened District 1-3A like they have for the past 14 years and that’s with a lopsided win Tuesday night. The Lady Falcons dismantled Dimmitt getting a three-set sweep, 25-11, 25-6, 25-7.
Bushland now runs its monumental district win streak to 98 straight games dating back to Oct. 18, 2011. The Lady Falcons also move to 28-8 overall on the year and 1-0 in league play. Dimmitt falls to 1-20 on the season and 0-1.
Laynee Adams and Brynleigh Koenig each had six kills for Bushland. Teammates Morgan Eberly, Teryn Palcios and Jaida Scott all had nine assists. Ava Permenter led the team with 20 assists and eight aces.
Dalhart started district play going on the road and beating Friona 25-9, 25-17, 25-21, on Tuesday. Kammi Maddox was clutch for the Lady Wolves putting together 24 assists and 15 kills for a double-double. Kaetlin Sundvahl added 12 kills. The Lady Wolves (25-5-2) are 1-0 in the league while Friona (16-15) drop to 0-1.
District 2-3A
Shallowater, Idalou and Childress were all winners during the first night of league action Tuesday.
Idalou won in three-sets against Littlefield 25-16, 25-19, 25-13. Idalou improves to 17-12 on the year and 1-0 in District 2-3A. Littlefield (11-13) is 0-1 in the league.
Childress defeated Lubbock Talkington in five-sets (20-25, 25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 15-8). Journey Prince used her big arm to knock down 17 kills and Emma Jalomo added eight blocks at the net. Childress is now 13-16 overall and 1-0 in District 2-3A. Talkington is 7-16, 0-1.
Shallowater swept Tulia (25-8, 25-8, 25-10) as the Lady Mustangs are now 22-9 overall and 1-0 in district. Tulia falls to 10-7 and 0-1. Emma Clawson paced the Fillies with 15 kills. and teammate Carli Buckley added 10 kills.
District 1-1A
Fort Elliott stayed in complete control of District 1-1A with a dominating win over Kelton, 25-14, 25-18, 25-9. The Lady Cougars (19-6) stay undefeated in league action at 5-0 while Kelton (10-2) drops to 3-2. Jaycee Sewell had a big night for Fort Elliott with 19 assists and four aces. Teammate Jayla Dickey led the team with six kills.
Miami stayed a game back of Fort Elliott with a sweep of Darrouzett 25-8, 25-12, 25-3, on Tuesday. Bentley Brooks and Brylee Thompson each had 12 assists which benefited Ava Lackey who knocked down 10 kills. The Lady Warriors improve to 4-1 in district and 12-6 overall. Darrouzett is 3-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.
Wildorado came away with a five-set win against Shamrock, 22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 15-13. The Lady Mustangs improve to 3-2 in district and 6-16 on the year. Shamrock (9-6) is now 2-3 in district.
White Deer picked up its first District 1-1A win sweeping Channing 25-5, 25-9, 25-7. The Does (3-18) move to 1-4 in district as Channing (0-12) falls to 0-5.
Tuesday’s quick hits
Frenship started District 2-6A off on the right foot downing Midland High at home in five-sets, 25-16, 24-26, 25-22, 16-25, 16-14. Leading the way to this thrilling win for the Lady Tigers was Bliss Dane’s 19 digs and 14 kills for a double-double. Teammate Kayle Upham passed out 24 assists with seven digs and four aces. Hana Hutchenson also had 24 assists and Reese Roberts powered down 17 kills.
San Jacinto Christian Academy stayed perfect in TAPPS District 1-2A sweeping Ascension Academy, 25-6, 25-12, 25-13. The Lady Patriots are now 24-4 overall and 5-0 in district. Alayna Daniel was unbelievable going for 25 kills and three blocks. Teammate Blayne Robison added 25 assists with eight aces.
In one other TAPPS District 1-2A score, Lubbock Kingdom Prep beat Holy Cross Catholic Academy, 25-13, 25-16, 25-14.
