AUSTIN (KXAN) — An upper level trough has brought an abundance of mid-level and high clouds to Central Texas that has limited the heating during the day, but will limit the cooling tonight.
Plan on plenty of evening and overnight clouds keeping temperatures a little warmer than the last few nights. Overnight lows will still drop into the 60s, but just not as low into the 60s as we’ve been recently.
As the trough moves east on Tuesday it will take the clouds with it. Early morning clouds will quickly give way to a mostly sunny day.
As a result of the extra sun, we’ll be a few degrees warmer with highs in the low to mid 90s. The lack of wind, abundance of sunshine will help promote the development of ground ozone. An Ozone Action Day has been declared with TCEQ labelling the air across much of Central Texas as “unhealthy for sensitive groups” on Tuesday.
We’ll have 60s each morning and 90s each afternoon for the foreseeable future with no rain through at least ACL Weekend One.
The outlook for the second week of October looks slightly more promising for rain.
