The Texans traded veteran offensive tackle Cam Robinson to the Cleveland Browns in a late-round pick swap, per a league source.
The Browns send the Texans a sixth-round pick in 2027 in exchange for Robinson and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick.
Robinson was a healthy scratch against the Tennessee Titans. Rookie left tackle Aireontae Ersery is entrenched as the starter.
During the offseason, Robinson was signed to a one-year contract with a maximum value of $14.5 million.
The deal has a base value of $12 million.
By adding Robinson, the Texans thought they had replaced five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil.
Instead, he injured his leg during the preseason at The Greenbrier and was replaced by Ersery.
The Texans previously shopped Robinson to the Los Angeles Chargers, per a source. They ultimately traded for Texans reserve tackle Austin Deculus.
Robinson, 29, is a former Jacksonville Jaguars second-round draft pick from Alabama.
Robinson stepped in for Christian Darrisaw last season in Minnesota when he got hurt.
He allowed four sacks and 49 pressures for the Vikings, including a dozen pressures in a wild-card playoff game loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
He had 13 penalties, seven sacks allowed and 52 pressures overall for the season. He was ranked 53rd overall among offensive tackles, according to Pro Football Focus analytics.
He started seven games last season for the Jaguars and 10 games for the Vikings, after being traded to Minnesota along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick that became a fourth-round selection based on his playing time.
