The English center is considered a developmental project.
Following the recent departure of sophomore center Jamie Vinson to the Texas A&M Aggies, the Texas Longhorns added a development piece to head coach Sean Miller’s first roster with Saturday’s pledge from center Lewis Obiorah, who plays at Barking Abbey School in London.

Obiorah reported offers from Ohio and UIC.
The 7’1 center with a wingspan listed between 7’5 and 7’7 was also targeted by Michigan State and is considered a raw prospect, but earned recognition as the EABL Player of the Year after averaging 10.7 PPG, 9.6 RPG, and 3.7 BPG.

As Obiorah gains strength, his length and athleticism will be his best attributes in the paint on both ends of the floor as a dunker, rebounder, and shot blocker.

But don’t expect Obiorah to play much during the 2025-26 season with a redshirt year a possibility considering the ruggedness of SEC play in the paint.
