Longhorns set to do battle with Georgia and Michigan.

Recruitments are continuing to heat up across the recruiting board for the Texas Longhorns. With the summer official visit window rapidly approaching, recruits are narrowing down their lists left and right, and another notable recruitment that involves the Longhorns received an update earlier today.

Four-star Galena Park (TX) North Shore safety Chace Calicut made it known that he has narrowed his recruitment down to three programs, and per On3’s Hayes Fawcett the Longhorns are one of three programs standing tall for Calicut.

Calicut has been fond of Texas since receiving an offer back in January, as he has consistently been linked to the Longhorns over the course of the spring Calicut made his back to Austin in April to get face time with the staff, which reaffirmed his fondness for the program.

With that said, there has also been some buzz around Michigan for Calicut and they are proving to be a formidable opponent in this recruitment. Texas does hold the proximity edge in this recruitment among the finalists and will be getting the final visit, but they will most certainly have their work cut out for them with both Georgia and Michigan in the hunt.

Calicut is the 13th ranked safety in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings and is the 161st ranked prospect overall in the country according to the same metrics.
