HOUSTON (KIAH) — The 2025 NFL schedule is out, and the Houston Texans are not going to be scheduled for any international games or games on major holidays.
The league-wide schedule – including the Texans – was released on Wednesday night, and Houston will get four primetime games, including a Monday night game for the home opener against Tampa Bay.
Houston will open the 2025 season on the road, facing the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday, Sept. 7. Then, following the Monday night game against the Buccaneers on Sept. 15, the Texans head to Jacksonville for a noon kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 21.
After a game at Baltimore on Sunday, Oct. 5, the Texans will have a bye week for the games on Sunday, Oct. 12.

The other three primetime games include a Monday night game at Seattle on Monday, Oct. 20, a Thursday night home game against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 20, and a Sunday night game at Kansas City against the Chiefs on Dec. 7.
The Texans end the season with three out of four games at home at NRG Stadium, with Arizona (Dec. 14), Las Vegas (Dec. 21) and the regular season finale against Indianapolis on either Jan. 3 or 4 to end the season.
Games in Week 11 to 17 can be later flexed to a Thursday, Sunday or Monday night game, so the Texans may have more primetime games in their future. The Week 18 game against Indianapolis will be determined after the Week 17 games.
The Texans also released their preseason schedule, which begins on Saturday, Aug. 9, with a game at Minnesota against the Vikings with a 3 p.m. kickoff. The lone preseason home game will be Saturday, Aug. 16 as the Texans host Carolina for a noon kick. The last preseason game will be at Detroit against the Lions on Saturday, Aug. 23 at noon.
The Texans are looking to repeat as AFC South champions for the third straight season in 2025. The team has revamped its offensive line and has added more weapons for quarterback C.J. Stroud while also adding more depth on its defense.
