Father knows best, as Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Arch Manning’s dad reminded us earlier this week. Cooper Manning recently sat down with the Dan Patrick Show to talk his son’s future under center at Texas and more. Notably, Papa Manning admitted he thought the time his son—an incoming redshirt sophomore—spent as Quinn Ewers’ backup the past two seasons was actually beneficial for the latest Manning gunslinger.
“I think having your children struggle with some things is good,” Cooper Manning said, according to Inside Texas. “Yeah, it’s frustrating not to play. Did he love it? No. Was it probably good for him in the long run? Yes.”
