The Southeastern Conference announced today that Texas Longhorns women’s basketball head coach Vic Schaefer and sophomore star Madison Booker both earned annual league honors. In this case, Schaefer was named the SEC Coach of the Year, while Booker earned the SEC Player of the Year distinction. The award is voted on by the SEC’s head coaches, who aren’t allowed to vote for their own players, according to a recent report in 247Sports.
