McEndoo comes equipped with several Texas connections

After a decade under the tenure of head coach Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State tight ends and fullbacks coach Jason McEndoo has joined Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns football staff.

247Sports initially reported the staffing development.

From 247Sports:

“McEndoo was college teammates with Texas tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Banks and linebackers coach/co-defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen, playing collegiately at Washington State as an offensive lineman from 1995-1998. Following his time with the Cougars, McEndoo spent three seasons in the NFL, with Seattle from 1998-1999 followed by a one-season stint with the New Orleans Saints in 2000. McEndoo’s first collegiate coaching job came at Montana State in 2003, where he spent three seasons on the Bobcats’ staff with current Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski.”

In other words, it’s safe to say McEndoo comes with a fair amount of Texas connections.

Also from 247Sports:

“Over the last four seasons, McEndoo has coached five players in tight ends Logan Carter, Jelani Woods, Jake Schultz, Josiah Johnson and fullback Braden Cassity to All-Big 12 honorable mention honors. Woods would go on to be a third-round selection of the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.”
