Details about the specific incident are unclear as of 8 a.m. Thursday.
Glenoak Elementary School is located just outside of Loop 410 near Wurzbach Road on the Northwest Side.
A district official confirmed that its officers were assisting SAPD.
In an email to KSAT, San Antonio police said the school was secure and no longer on lockdown.
It is unknown how long the lockdown had been in place.
