The Horns have the No. 1 seed in their first season in the conference.
After earning the No. 1 seed in the 2025 SEC Baseball Tournament by clinching the regular-season title on Friday, the Texas Longhorns won’t have to play again until Thursday in Hoover, Ala. at Metropolitan Stadium in the single-elimination tournament at 3 p.m. Central on SEC Network in Game 9.

No. 9 seed Alabama faces No. 16 seed Missouri in the conference opener on Tuesday morning with the winner advancing to face No. 8 seed Tennessee in Wednesday’s early game.
With the single-elimination format, the Longhorns will play three games or less in the tournament, a significant change from the grueling double-elimination format in previous conference tournaments.
The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the last projection from D1 Baseball slotting Texas as the No. 1 national seed with Dallas Baptist, UTRGV, and Oral Roberts joining head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s team in the Austin Regional.
