That’s kind of harsh
Afters weeks and months of the NFL economy babbling on with NFL Draft hot takes, folks get bored. And once they get bored, they seemingly become more critical than ever.
Predictably, bad hot takes follow.
One example this year is an anonymous NFL scout’s harsh criticism of Texas Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who’s currently working toward being selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco’s podcast Nightcap, the hosts passed on the anonymous source’s review to Bond while he was a guest on the show.
“This is his exact quote, Isaiah, I’m not ad-libbing and I’m not adding, I’m not taking anything out,” Sharpe told Bond, according to Sports Illustrated. “This is what he said, ‘Prototypical, what you would think of in a wide receiver. Just generic, boilerplate, selfish, diva, wide receiver.’ What is your response?”
Bond was provided an opportunity to respond.
“My response to that is, I mean, this season, I did suffer a high-ankle sprain, grade 3,” Bond said. “And I mean, when others told me to sit it down and shut it down, I chose to stay and fight with my teammates and win a national championship.”
Enough said.
