Say hello to Texas’ new QB1

In Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisians opinion so far, quarterback Arch Manning has already assumed the reigns in leading the 2025 Texas football teams offense later this year.

That’s at least according to a few words Sarkisian shared on Manning during some booth time at the NFL Combine over the weekend, according to a report from Athlon Sports.

“We’re watching him, in winter workouts and offseason stuff, really becoming the leader of the team, like the quarterback has to be,” Sarkisian said over the weekend. “And he’s got such a great personality that I think his teammates really respond to him. … I think things are off to a really good start for him, and we’ve got a pretty good football team around him, which I think is important, too.”

Sarkisian later added, “We try to recruit every position at a high level, and, as long as he can allow those guys to make their plays, his physical ability will show up, his leadership will show up. And then, I think we’re gonna be able to use his athleticism.”
