The latest victory makes Scheffler’s third major title

Scottie Scheffler—the world’s top golfer—notched his third career major title over the weekend as he posted a five-stroke chicken dinner winner at the PGA Championship.

Scheffler previously won the The Masters in both 2022 and 2024.

Some context from Texas Athletics’ new release following Scheffler’s latest victory:

“Scheffler is one of six former Longhorns to win a Major championship. He is joined in that prestigious group by Ben Crenshaw (1984 and 1995 the Masters), Tom Kite (1992 U.S. Open), Mark Brooks (1996 PGA Championship), Justin Leonard (1997 the Open) and Jordan Spieth (2015 the Masters, 2015 U.S. Open and 2017 the Open). This marked the 15th career PGA TOUR victory for the 28-year-old Scheffler. Since World War II, Scheffler is one of just three golfers who have won 15 times on the PGA TOUR and captured three Major titles before the age of 29, joining Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.”

That’s pretty decent company.
