The Duncanville product only spent one season as a starter for the Longhorns.

Offensive coordinator Kyle Flood has a full rebuild on his hands along the texas-vs-ohio-state-advanced-stats-preview/” title=”Texas vs. Ohio State advanced stats preview”>offensive line after Texas Longhorns junior right tackle Cam Williams joined junior left tackle Kelvin Banks in declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, telling ESPN on Tuesday that he will forego his final season of eligibility.

Like Banks, Williams flipped to Texas from Oregon late in the 2022 recruiting cycle when Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal left Eugene for the Hurricanes. Out of Duncanville, Williams finished the cycle as the No. 407 player nationally and the No. 35 offensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. The low four-star ranking for Williams didn’t reflect his upside, however — his rare combination of size and athleticism made him an intriguing take for Flood.

Williams mostly played on the field-goal unit as a freshman, appearing in 13 games, before starting against Kansas State in 2023 as a injury replacement and otherwise seeing time in eight other games as a reserve.

As a full-time starter for the first time in 2024, Williams had issues committing penalties with 16 on the year, mostly false starts, but was otherwise an outstanding performer until suffering a knee injury in the College Football Playoff against Clemson that contributed to the 6’5, 335-pounder giving up two of the five sacks he allowed all season in the Cotton Bowl loss to Ohio State.

Williams projects as a likely Day Two selection in the draft.
