The local prospect chose the Longhorns over TCU, Baylor, and Ole Miss.

The Texas Longhorns added another key piece to the secondary group with the addition of Yaheim Riley, Friday.

Hailing from Anderson (Austin) High School, Riley reported 18 offers this cycle, including the TCU Horned Frogs, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the Ole Miss Rebels. He’s scheduled to visit the Forty Acres on June 13, with a visit to Vanderbilt on the books the week prior. The three-star prospect is a three-sport star for Anderson, competing in basketball and track and field, while also playing both sides of the ball for the football team.

The 5-foot, 11-inch, 180-pound safety ranks No. 67 at the position nationally and No. 775 overall, joining a talented group that will allow him some time to develop. The Longhorns added multiple elite prospects at safety in the last three cycles, including a pair of five stars and two high-four stars. Sitting behind players like Michael Terry, Jonah Williams, and Xavier Filsaime will give him a ton of mental reps and opportunities to grow as he begins to specialize at the college level.

Riley is commitment No. 8 for Texas in the 20265 cycle, joining Hayward Howard—who committed just one week prior—in the secondary for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Overall, Texas sits at No. 25 in the 247Sports composite, led by a pair of five-star recruits in that group.
